The Happy Hangup is perfect for babies from newborns up to about 3 years old.

It holds a maximum weight of 20kg, so it is completely safe until after your baby is too big to fit in the hammock anymore.

You can put a firm lounge cushion in to create a level base, then lay a sheepskin on top to create a lush bed. As the baby grows you simply put in a larger cushion.

If your baby has colic or reflux you can adjust the cushion so that the head is higher. Or you can leave the cushion out altogether so the baby is cradled upright in a womb-like position.

If your baby has sleep problems the gentle bouncing undulations will bring sleep easily.

Experiments with 'baby hammock incubators' have shown that even premature babies nurtured in a hammock inside an incubator had better 'weight gain; general maturity; auditive & visual functions and were generally less agitated'.

Your baby recognises the undulating motion, combined with cradling, as a signal that it is safe and nurtured. This deeply relaxes your baby which facilitates sleep, even for babies who are light sleepers, or who suffer from gastro-intestinal disorders such as infant colic or infant reflux.
