Bouncing and swinging hammocks have been used in many cultures throughout the ages to comfort and sleep infants.
The Happy Hangup is one of three bouncing hammocks known to us. Its unique cradling hammock is suspended below an elongated spring which allows a gentle up and down motion. The Happy Hangup is dramatically distinguished from the other two by its beautiful handcrafted wooden hanger. This is hand-finished with a highly refined mixture of natural plant oils. It has been modeled on an original baby hammock designed and created by Michael Cafarella, wood artist.*
Other advantages of the Happy Hangup are:
-You can use larger cushions in the hammock as your baby grows. Our competitor's bedding length is fixed and can be outgrown in a year.
-You can position (tilt) your cushion so that the baby's head is raised. This is useful if the baby suffers infant reflux or infant colic.
-You can remove your cushion so that the baby is more curled up as in the "fetal position" with its head upwards. This is also useful if the baby suffers infant reflux or infant colic.
* Michael Cafarella's four children were his inspiration for the Happy Hangup, and he continues to make one for every person he knows having a child. His last child enjoyed it so much they used it up until age 4. They simply hung it low enough to the floor that the child would climb in when it was tired and climb back out again when he awoke.
