A happy customer:

Hello,

Several months ago I bought the Happy Hangup and pillow. I bought them to use when my grand daughter visits (nearly every day). It has worked like magic! Not only does it immediately get her to sleep, but it isn't an eyesore hanging in my house.
For me the happy hangup has been wonderful, because I have a very bad back. We have hung the hammock next to my chair in the living room, so I can easily rock Addie to sleep. We have hung the hammock at a level that is easy for me to place the baby in the the hammock, with out further straining my back. When Addie goes home, the hammock is moved out of the way, to another hook.

Of all the baby paraphernalia, on the market, the Happy Hangup is one of the best things that one could buy. Most things, for babies, are basically useless and ugly.

Cheers,

We have a toddler (2) and newborn (5wks) and I was struggling to find a balance between caring for both of them.. my little newborn girl just didn't like sleeping in her portacot in the daytime, or anywhere else but a bouncy chair I had in lounge. I was fast to realize it was the movement she liked.. as when I wear her in a sling.. I then looked online and found your web site.. I was very interested in the concept and purchased one.
And I want to let you know my little girl loves sleeping in her hammock in the day time now.. and when she wake at 6am she has a feed and back in hammock till 9am (mum gets sleep in .. so great) didn't happen when she was in cot.. If she is tired, has gassy tum, hiccups, over stimulated, into her hammock she goes for a little down time and she becomes so content .. you can see her little face and body relax.. and many times drift off into slumber. I think my bub seems a happier and more content baby. And best of all we are both getting more sleep. I will spread the word of how beautifully your hammock works.

Thankyou so much.. from a mum of two.

We have twins and we borrowed one of the hammocks from a friend, and have been amazed by how well the babies sleep in it. We use it mainly for the fussier of the two, and it seems to make him calmer and happier even when he's not in it. He's become more calm and content than his sister, so now we're ordering one for her as well. Thanks again!

From an email to Happy Hangup:

ps I also asked for advice/suggestions that you know of as I am getting this for my 4.5mo son, as opposed to a newborn. We are currently cosleeping, but he is very restless, and also a short napper in the day. So I'm interested to hear what you know about transitioning an older baby into the hammock?

Our reply:

Hi Keiren

In my experience 4½ months is still a reasonable age to start an infant in the HH. The main advice I would suggest is to make sure he is tired, and feels comfortable about you putting him in. This way he will likely be a little stimulated by it initially, then if you keep up a regular firm bounce, he will likely settle into a good sleep. Initially you may find that when you stop the bouncing he may awaken, so expect to keep an ongoing bounce till he is deeply asleep. I recommend tying a sash or cord onto one of the wooden circles and seat yourself comfortably with a book or something to occupy yourself with and keep pulling on the sash/cord to maintain the rhythmic bounce for some time.

The cushion is probably quite important for you. Pillows are too soft, and rectangular won't work, the hammock needs the square shape, which, when placed in on the diamond orientation, creates more of a level base for your baby. Without the cushion your baby may feel too enclosed and not able to stretch out.. it's more of a womblike position, good for colicky times and new infants.

I suggest start using it for day sleeps at first. If he likes it then you could try using it at night. Some people hang it over their bed where they can reach out a foot to activate the bounce. Others hang it next to the bed where they can reach out a hand to the baby, or to bounce it.

Lastly, if your little guy really doesn't take to it, we have a 30 day money back guarantee, so just send it back undamaged and we'll refund you.

Hi

We got the hammock fine, and started using it yesterday. Sash settles really well in it, he has always liked "bouncy" motion, so I just put him in when he was tired, and he didn't even grizzle just went straight to sleep. I found that if I got to him when he first woke (after the first sleep cycle) I could bounce him back to sleep. This is excellent, because patting him etc didn't work, and he would really be a mess by the end of the day because he was so tired.

I also put him in it for the first part of the night, and he slept from 8pm-11pm really well before coming in with us. So that's lovely too.

Plus it is soooo beautiful.

Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch with us yesterday in relation to the Hammock.
Our Baby Oliver was born three and a half weeks early and was a c.section for a breech presentation.
It became quite apparent from the first few weeks that he was very unsettled, and vomiting a lot of his breast milk after feeding.
He was diagnosed by the paediatrician as having oesophageal gastric reflux, which meant he needed medication prior to all feeds and to be positioned head up all the time. He was quite hard to settle needing to be nursed and rocked a lot of the time, which is where the baby hammock comes in. From the first time he went in it, he loved it, and would either sleep quite happily or be awake and quite contented. The slightest movement he made would rock or bounce the hammock which obviously had a soothing calming affect on him. We now have hooks to attach the hammock inside the house and on the veranda.
Please if you need anymore information drop us a line, and feel free to use Oliver's story to advertise this great invention, Thanks again.

"Thank you for the Happy Hangup. Tallow loves it and it's saved my sanity. I used to walk up and down the street for hours just to get him to sleep."

"..absolutely the best thing. Holly had colic quite badly and now with the Happy Hangup she's a very blissed out baby. Heather had trouble carrying her around due to the C-section so it's also saved our backs."

"I don't know what we would do without the Happy Hangup. "

"Our Happy Hangup has been absolutely invaluable! My baby loved it from the beginning. He is now 7 months old and it
still makes his daytime sleeps a simple pleasure for both of us."

I am so pleased with my Happy HangUp. All new parents should have one. My baby loves his hammock almost as much as I do. I am very petite but my son is not. He is a considerably large baby especially for me so the hammock relieves my arms and it soothes my baby instantly. And it is the most beautiful hammock available out there.

WE LOVE OUR HAPPY HANGUP and I would have to say without a doubt- it is the most sound investment I have made for our baby
Thank you so much for it as I dont know how I survived my first 3 children without one.
Thank you.

I just wanted to let you know how pleased we have been with our Happy Hangup hammock. My daughter Aalia is 2 years old. She still sleeps in her Happy Hangup, hops in for some quiet time to read picture books, and has slept better and longer in there than she does laying down. She is happy in there without a
cushion now and seems to be in a good position. She gets in it all the time even when she is not tired to play or just if she wants a bit of time in her own
space.
Cheers
